Yields: 15 servings Ingredients: ½ cup butter ¼ cup heavy cream 1 cup brown sugar ½ cup pecans, toasted and chopped 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced 1 box yellow cake mix 1 ¼ cups water 1/3 cup vegetable oil 3 eggs ¼ tsp. apple pie spice Preparation Directions: ~ Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a saucepan; cook butter, cream, and brown sugar over low heat until butter is melted and mixture is well mixed. Pour into a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with pecans and top with sliced apples. Set aside. ~ In a large bowl, beat cake mix water, oil, eggs, and apple pie spice with mixer until moistened. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Carefully spoon batter over apple mixture. ~ Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes then carefully invert onto serving platter letting caramel drip down sides of cake.
