What temp do you put the oven at, and also, i heard you should put the powder in cold water and drink it that it is better for you, what do you think, nice video by the way, well-done – Kev
I’m wondering if you could use a microwave to dry them with.I now the microwave will dry tobacco leaves.and then use a coffee bean grinder to grind up the dandelions roots
I am just going to make a small batch of this to try it out. Currently roasting the roots. I was able to dig up 20 roots or large size. I just want to try it as I am curious about it for holistic reasons.
It tastes very similar to coffee but does not contain caffeine, one reason of several that makes it a healthy alternative to those that like coffee but do not or cannot consume caffeine.
We are working on making a batch right now. So far we got about half a 5 gallon bucket of dandelions. I am not going to roast them until I can get at least a bucket full so that we have enough to get us through the winter.
Actually, I’ve found the secret to making dandelion coffee without too much work is to find them in areas where there are not too many rocks (or sod) in the way of their growth, or in areas where a lawn mower could stunt their growth. The best place to get them is in areas where its very fertile, somewhat wet sometimes, and esp. areas where it was recently plowed (like a Organic Vegetable Farm). This way, they are REALLY big and its much more worth while.
So I said to myself …. I wonder if anyone has posted a video on how to make dandelion coffee. I really wanted to see what it looked like after the brew. Thanks for posting.
Caffeine is the whole reason I’m watching this video…. oh well, still, I learned how to make some fine organic Tea; Caffeine free that is.
