Sulawesi is a tiny
island located in the middle of the Malay archipelago in
Indonesia. Sulawesi coffee is sometimes known as Celebes
coffee, which was the Dutch colonial name for the
island. The coffee was also previously known as
Celebes Kalossi, but it no longer goes by that
name.
Toraja coffee beans
grow at high altitudes on Sulawesi, and are named
after the mystical, densely-forested region where
they are grown.
Sulawesi coffee is
very similar to coffee beans from Sumatra. It
has a rich, full body, and slightly more acidity than
Sumatran coffee.
